Voice classes are a great confidence builder and an opportunity to express different emotions. Not only do the students learn as they practice their own technique, but also as they observe and listen to each other in a safe and encouraging environment.
In the Winter Sessions, we are sponsoring free voice classes at the Copley-Price YMCA for two age ranges: 5-12 years and teen-adult. Both classes include guitar accompaniment and are an opportunity for guitar students to learn how to sing and play at the same time.
Notes from the ‘Progress Report’ of August 20, 2016 (week 4 of 5):
Voice! – With guest teacher Mr. Jody, we ‘shook it all out’ with warm-up exercises and learned ‘Cupid’ by Sam Cooke (see link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4PE_Mn2pIs ) . With Mr. Kevin, we have worked on ‘This Little Light of Mine’, ‘Row Row Row Your Boat’ in a round, and have started to learn solfege (do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti, do).
